Update on "Occupy" Movement

Two quick things...

FIRST, I thought these words were a great way to illustrate my point about the "Occupy" people not being entirely united in their cause:

"This movement is more than just the people versus the police," Mario Fernandez said. "It's about the people trying to have their rights to basic services."

This quote comes from this article in the Huffingtonpost: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/25/occupy-oakland-protest-police-protesters-clash_n_1031879.html?icid=maing-grid7|main5|dl7|sec1_lnk3|107621

What basic services are they referring to? I thought this was about corporate greed, and about how the rich have all the money and that that was "SO UNFAIR". I guess that idea was wrong.

SECOND, an absolutley unfortunate incident, at least the first to make it on the news anyway, occurred in the "occupy Dallas" arena this week. A woman, a protester, was sexually assaulted by a fellow male protester. This incident, unfortunately for the "Occupy" people, will definitely hurt the movement I think. So many people will no doubt see this as a testimony of the caliber of people that are protesting.

Go home occupiers. Go home, change your lives, WORK FOR WHAT YOU WANT IN LIFE. The sky is your only limit here is this great land of America.

Occupy this!

Okay, so it has been forever since I really had anything posted up here, but I have had it this week. I am sure everyone in America, and as the news media says now the whole world, has heard all about those silly people "occupying wall street". It is said their mantra is "down with corporate greed".
Well, first off it has been made known, at least here on a local television news station, that not everyone knows exactly what they're protesting. A "random sample", if you will, was taken of a few people in one of the crowds here, and their messages for the protest ranged from health care issues to the more famous "down with corporate greed".
I find this quite amusing. It would seem as if these people did not entirely coordinate their efforts as well as they should have.
At any rate, in reality, are not these protesters contradicting themselves? What does their contempt truly stem from? GREED. They complain of only a few having all the money in the country, and the world. While that is true, it should not make those wealthy people public enemy number one. Is it their fault that they, or someone in their lineages, took the initiative and decided to make their lives different? They wanted something, and they took it through their own efforts. They did not want somebody to cut them a check. THIS IS AMERICA PEOPLE! THE SKY IS THE LIMIT ON WHAT WE CAN HAVE! If you want something, you work and sweat until you get it. It is so unfortunate that so many in the rising generations are under this false impression that they are entitled to whatever they want, even after no effort on their part.
You know what I think? I think these protesters are greedy themselves, and that this whole ordeal stems from GREED. I also think these people embody COMMUNISM in its very essence. Their crying out of such an injustice and their sob stories are getting old. They want to "redistribute the wealth", BUT THAT IS NOT HAPPENING HERE IN AMERICA! Here's an idea...CRY ME A RIVER, BUILD A BRIDGE, AND GET OVER IT! Work for what you want.

A Death Sentence for America as we know it...

Well, the quote "this is what change looks like" comes to my mind at the moment. Change is a massive understatement to say the least. I just had a few thoughts on my mind recently, and I wanted to get them out there for my avid follower(s) on this blog.

First, I would like to address the manner in which the recent health care overhaul bill was passed. If I remember correctly, Obama said that there would be televised footage of this legislative process as it occurred. Not only that, but it would also include sitting down at the table with health care professionals (doctors and others in the field) as well as people from the insurance companies and representatives of the people. This was how it was supposed to happen, so that they could all sit down and figure out what was best for this country's health care system. Now, if you have read any of my past posts on here, you know I am very against the current administration and their methods of supposed politics. So, needless to say, you can safely assume I am absolutely against this health care bill. I am not saying by any means that our country's system is perfect, or that it works as good as it should. I acknowledge that it doesn't whole heartedly, and that it does need to be fixed. However, passing this legislation behind closed doors, without being made completely public so that we could hear what our "representatives of the people" say and see what they do, and by using pathetic measures such as budget reconciliation to make sure those that oppose it congress cannot even filibuster it, is wrong. So much for having any trace of integrity or respect for those you are to serve Obama. One more note on this particular subject, is that Obama continually accused those of the more conservative side, as well as a few democrats who opposed this bill of playing favorites toward the side of lobbyists and special interest groups. If you ask me, or any other person of normal intelligence, it would be clear that they (Obama and his cronies)are the ones serving their own special interests. This is perfectly evidenced by the manner they so relentlessly pushed this bill through.

Anyway, now that it's been passed and signed into effect, some of it immediately, let's talk about some of the ramifications it will have on this country. Let's point out the obvious first. Number one, the economic consequences will be painfully evident, in about 3-5 years it has been speculated, when the insurance companies disappear due to bankruptcy and other financial woes because of the pressures newly placed upon them by this joke of a bill. Effective immediately, insurance companies can no longer deny coverage for people based on preexisting conditions. This spells impending doom money wise. The insurance companies are going to paying out to everybody and their dog now. I am sorry for those people with bad health conditions, but the whole country shouldn't have to pay the price with its citizens money and freedom. I think it's funny also that it has been speculated to be about 3-5 years by some when the inurance companies will be out of the picture. I say that because, in about 3 years and 8 1/2 months that mandate for every citizen to have health care will kick into effect. Coincidence? I really doubt it. This administration has shown it's true colors people, they want our freedom and congress is giving it to them on a silver platter. Not only that but they're giving us the crap care option, and taking the best for themselves. Members of congress are exempt from that mandate, and i very well remember Obama being asked if he and his family would be going onto a government care plan if one was passed. You remember what he said? He said "no, I want my family to have the BEST care." Are we not his family as Americans? He's the president of our country, and has made it obvious that he does not have what's best for us, his constituency, in mind.

Anyway, another economical result will be the massive debt that is going to pile up, and the loss of people in the health care career field. They're also wanting to tax medical equipment manufacturers to try and pay for part of this $940 billion bill. Can you say goodbye best quality medical equipment in the world?

Now, my final major ramification to be mentioned is the generational effect. Health care quality is going to go down the tube, not just for us but for our children and probably their children as well. I don't know about you, but when it comes to my family i want the best, like Obama. (That is probably the only things we will ever have in common.) Not only is the quality of care going to go down, but we're going to be footing the bill for the price tag as well as our kids, and their kids.

In closing I have only this to say...

Our constitution is being burned and the ashes spit on in front of our eyes. So, thank you to those dummies who wanted something for nothing and voted this clown into office. Thank you SO MUCH...

Self-Fulfilled Prophecy

I just had some thoughts running through my head today; thoughts about the economic situation in which our country has entrenched itself through the mode of "self-fulfilling prophecy". Now, if I remember correctly, this country was never, by ACTUAL definition, in a "recession", much less a depression during Bush's presidency until the final quarter before he left office and when Obama got elected. The definition of recession I am going by here is the actual, formal definition used in economics, that is, a period of three consecutive quarters of falling real gross domestic product.

Anyway, I am pretty well convinced, and this of my own volition and decision after much study and deliberation, that we did not get into a recession until the people of this country were repeatedly told during Obama's entire campaign for presidency. (And this was by means of "scare tactics" from him and the blame-gamers who are now crying about the political right using the supposed same tactics to scare everyone about health care.) We were told so much, not only by Obama, buy by nearly all of the major media networks as well, that we were in "the worst economic times since the great depression". Now, we weren't even in a recession when he was making these asinine, ill-informed statements during his campaign. We didn't get into one until the final quarter of the year when he was elected. Now, I have known of, and known people who have been told, or told themselves something so many times that they started to truly believe what they were being told, even if it was nowhere near the truth. I have to argue that this in fact happened last year. Enough Americans were blinded by these lies, they somewhat fell victim to self-fulfilling prophecy. Americans became scared that there wouldn't be enough to pay the bills in the not too distant future, that they had to save every penny to survive "the worst economic times since the great depression". What happened then? People didn't spend, they didn't make big purchases. They stopped going out to eat as much. Then as a definite result, the economy suffered. There was no stimulation for the markets because commerce wasn't happening like it should. Americans put themselves into this mess, and then enough people decided to give up many of their freedoms by giving power of the presidency to one of the main men who put us in this situation by telling us over and over that we were in "the worst economic times since the great depression". We were never even close to that bad of a situation until Americans believed those lies.

***By the way, Mr Obama told NBC in July: “Doing nothing means that you’re going to lose what you have . . . Because on the current trajectory, your premiums are going to double again over the next five to 10 years.” (Is the right wing the only one using scare tactics? it seems to me he may be saying something to the effect, "it's my way or nothing")

"Health Care"...

You know, I am curious about the current presidential administration's view about "health care". I cannot really see how it is going to have a lasting effect on people's health. Yes, people's medical conditions will be cared for, but what about their overall health? What about their physical fitness? What measures are there in Obama's plan that will really help people with their HEALTH care? Is he going to make Physical Education a requirement again in all public schools around the country? That could possibly be a step in a better direction. (Of course that would expand the size of the already far exceeded it's proper boundaries federal government, so maybe that wouldn't be a good idea afterall) Is he going to put money into advertising to instruct people on how to eat healthy well balanced diets? (This would be a fairly good idea) So far from all that I have read, he plans do nothing of the sort. So then, I ask again, what is he doing for HEALTH care?

Now, in my life experience, little it may be with my 23 years of living, it is better to "Prepare and Prevent than to Repair and Repent". So why don't we focus on educating our citizens in this country to help them make better lifestyle decisions for themselves? Wouldn't that cut down on "health care" costs Mr. Obama and cronies? Wouldn't that reduce the need for people to go to the doctor so often? Wouldn't that cut down on a lot of the massively wide spread diseases and various medical conditions that arise from bad diet decisions and lack of physical activity? I do believe it would. Nay, I KNOW IT WOULD! Get your head out of the clouds and please come back to a little place I like to call REALITY! Please Don't take more of our hard-earned money than y'all already do to fund your half-cocked, ill conceived notions of failed systems that have been tried in other countries and DO NOT WORK! I really think you need to better educate yourselves before you go spending more of our money like it's going out of style.

Appeal to reason...

Socialism is wrong. It has been tried, and is proven to fail every time. It may last longer in some areas than others, but it is a broken and poorly thought out economic system. It leaves those who practice it in a worse state than they were before. It deprives the market of implementing its own laws of "natural selection". These selections lead people and companies to make a bigger, better output from the same or even less input. Those economic "natural" laws are deprived of creating a more efficient mode of production for just about everything when the government decides to manipulate the market their own way. In the past, distant and not so distant, we have seen the rise and horrific fall of many a nation who lived under the rule of socialism/communism. The people are impoverished beyond belief. Many starve, and die due to poor health care practices because the government decided it could run things better than the market itself. Perhaps, worst of all, socialism/communism takes away freedom from the people. We lose our ability to choose how to live our lives. The system is wrong for a reason, it is forced upon those who do not want it, and see it's evil, by a small group of people who see the power it can give to them over those very people who put them in a position of great trust and authority.
It is absolute power over people in a country, at least until they decide to rebel, which will corrupt absolutely. I do not see why there are many in this country wish to lose more of their freedom than has already been taken. I make an appeal to reason here. Open your eyes to the evils of socialism people! Adhere to that plain and precious prize of common sense. The light of freedom is being darkened by the shadow of an ever-growing federal government. Do not let it go out! I say "NO!" to totalitarian government. It is tyranny in its most essential state. May our freedoms never be taken; and if they are, I pray that God will grant us the courage and strength to take them back.

Why does everything the government runs suck?

Okay, so I was playing the waiting game today on the phone to have a simple registration question answered for a class I am taking this summer. They have this new automated system that is like calling "Moviefone", but this one doesn't work quite as well. Also, the school only gives this new number out on the site. SO, my question is, don't these people already do enough of nothing all day? I mean is it so hard to answer a phone call from a student who is attempting to get an education? This of course set my rant off today, mainly because it's a state-funded school. I hate government funded business and the like. They are the worst of them all for customer/client/student service. I mean it's like going into Walmart, you know? Where have to twist the greeter's arm to acknowledge you and say a simple phrase, "Hello, Welcome to Walmart!" That's their job! That is what they supposed to be getting paid for! I can count the times I have actually been greeted by an employee at Walmart on one hand. No joke!
Anyways, let's get back to the government side of this discussion. These people know they would really have to screw up to lose their jobs, so they just don't do anything instead. I think maybe our government funded employees in this country need a little help with the sociability aspect of their work. Maybe how to ACTUALLY WORK too. Now, don't get me wrong. I know there are great people in these professions that really work the hardest at making sure they do all they can to help you. Unfortunately though, they are very far and in between. Let me just close with these last few remarks. I just want everyone to know that I am not a pessimistic type of person. I believe whole-heartedly that all people inherently possess good in them. I mean, it's in our "spiritual pedigree". It just saddens and frustrates me that these things happen all day, everyday, everywhere. Why is it (mostly) that when the government runs something, it just flat out sucks?
